4.3 Monochromatic Clouds

Okay, this week's assignment was a monochromatic painting, with water mixable oils. These paintings are all based on photos I took because if a photo on my camera isn't of my adorable fluffy cat, it's of clouds.
Okay, So I used blue, white, and black to study clouds and the sky. Here are the sketches compared to the finished paintings. I did several because they're all on the small side.
Title: Mr. Fluffy
Size: 5.5 x 4.5 in
Media: Water mixable oils
Portraying: A fluffy cloud.

Title: Dark Clouds
Size: 4.5 x 4 in
Media: Water mixable oil paints.
Portraying: A dark, interesting sky.

Title: Ribbon Clouds
Size: 3.5 x 6in
Media: Water mixable oil paints.
Portraying: An interesting cloud pattern.

The sketch for this one was too light to show up on camera, so no sketch here.
Title: Clouds
Size: 4.5 x 6 in
Media: Water mixable oil paints.
Portraying: A cloudy sky.

Can I just say, if you work with oils you should start on Monday, so it has time to dry and you can add more layers. Otherwise, you might end up with too much blended mush and not enough time to fix it up, so you decide to restart the assignment all over again because your camels look like mules. Yeah I know that feeling. :)
